If only Quayle hadn’t stopped short of saying:
“We have seen pictures where there are canals, we believe, and water. If there are canals, there are boats. Which would of course mean Martian sailors.”
I grew up reading SciFi in the 50s… I demand canals with Martian sailors!
Even if this were not debunked, all it’s evidence of is a large disk far away.

In fact, these pictures makes it almost impossible to tell if this was a toy strung from a tree near by, or a hub cap thrown like a frisbee in the distance.
