A VW ID. Buzz. Yes the period after ID is part of the branding. Cool looking thing, lots of retro vibes, but upon some google, it has a range of about 230 miles. Ok for farting around town, but crap on a road trip. ---

I saw a new car that looked like, for lack of a better way to explain it, an old Honda. Looking at Honda’s [I saw a Honda badge, so I know it was a Honda] current lineup, I’m _guessing_ it was a Prelude. I think that’s probably the first time I’ve seen one from the current generation. ---

  @Seanette and I have, lately, been working two days a week at a car wholesale operation in Fremont.  The job entails mostly just driving sold cars out of a secure lot, and either parking them in an unsecured lot nearby, where the buyers can pick them up, or handing them directly to the buyers when the buyers are present.   A couple of weeks ago, there were three rather exotic cars on our lot—an eleventh-generation Ford Thunderbird (that was the last version, that Ford briefly came out with in 2002-2005, meant to return to the spirit and form of the original Thunderbird), a Plymouth Prowler, and a Dodge Viper. Last week, I got to drive the Prowler out and hand it over to its buyer. The week before, I got to take out the Thunderbird.  The Viper was still in the lot, as of the the last I knew. It’s considered high-value enough that we don’t even have the keys for it out there, and it doesn’t get to leave the secured lot until the buyer shows up to claim it. Except for rare instances like the Viper, all the cars in the secure lot have the keys in a lockbox on the vehicle, and those of us working there have a key to open the lockbox; and any car that has been paid for can be taken out to the unsecured lot for the buyer to pick up at his convenience. The majority of the cars that we handle are fairly mundane, but we do get some occasional very interesting exotics from time to time. ---

I see this commonly here in Los Angeles. More often than the other models. I saw one of these on the freeway this morning during the commute. More interestingly, it was being driven by a pilot in the driver’s seat, with no fare payer. Apparently Waymos also commute. ---

I just saw a California plate in the Publix parking lot with a 9ZL… plate. Meaning either someone drove from California to visit someone, or they recently bought a car in California then moved to Tennessee, which is… a choice. ---

I took this a few days ago and was just going to crop it so only the green car was in frame. That’s when I noticed the red car as well. Had no idea it was there until just now.
