What's the most unique job you've ever had?

I had a few of unique jobs.

In Junior High I got a job building free standing rock walls at a guys cottage beside a lake. His water front was all shale rock, so he hired someone to dynamite his water front and I moved all the rock. If a piece of rock was large enough 2" x 6" 12"+ I would carry it via wheel barrel to a site on his property and build a wall. if it was extremely large, I would use a large sledge hammer to break it down to a manageable size. Very dirty work, but $12/hour cash in 1990 when you’re 15 years old was pretty good money.

In high school a few times a year I would be hired at the local chicken farm to carry the egg laying chickens to slaughter. So you’re carrying 3 chickens in each hand to a guy who puts the in a truck to take away.

And finally in the summer between grade 11 and grade 12 my uncle hired me as a deckhand on his Ocean Fish packing boat. I did that for 5 summers, it was one of the best experiences of my life! Lots of responsibility (sailing a 70’ vessel up and down the West Coast of British Columbia), long hours (once worked 36 hours straight with only a few 5-10 minute breaks every few hours) and having the unique experience of being waste deep in ice cold salmon! It was killer money, I made ~$225/day. My shortest season was about 28 days, my longest about 65.
