On my last trip to Paris, I found where \*A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte \*was painted. It was a real pain in the ass, finding the exact spot where Seurrat stood, since everything’s changed now. But there were clues in the shore lines. ---

Sorry, didn’t read the thread, but I skiied Mt. Chacaltaya in Bolivia. At the time, it was the highest permanantly establisted ski area (17250 ft). One of my best memories… Along with a certain anatomical endowment of a “Gabriealla” from Brazil… Bet no Doper been between them, either! Oh, man, they were awsome… ---

I find it hard to believe that I’m the only Doper to have eaten in the Congressional Dining room, or whatever it’s called (a half-assed Googling produced nothing). Maybe the others who have done so, just haven’t seen this thread yet. ---

[/QUOTE] I have been to Jarabacoa, and there is a really neat waterfall outside of town, we had to hike for about 15 or 20 minutes to get to it, but it was worth the effort. Port Arthur, Tasmania, but I am sure some of our Down Under dopers have been there. Blackwaterfoot, Isle of Arran, Scotland? Well, just outside of it at a B&B. Or the [Machrie Standing Stones](http://www.mysteriousbritain.co.uk/majorsites/machrie1.html) just to the north of there. Then the next night at Lochgilphead, Scotland. Then there is the Bridge Over the Atlantic, connecting [Seil Island](http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/seil/seil/index.html) with the mainland just south of Oban, Scotland. And there was getting my feet wet at Lake Superior Provincial Park, Ontario, Canada while looking at the pictographs at Agawa Rock. It can be dangerous to [climb](http://www.northernontario.com/index.aspx?l=0,1,3,16,114,155) [out](http://thecanadianencyclopedia.com/index.cfm?PgNm=TCE&Params=A1ARTA0009893) and look at them, especially if the lake is active. But interesting to look at. ---

Beautiful - I was very impressed with the old Khanate cities in Uzbekistan - Bokhara was very nice, too. How about **Minab, Iran**?, where (some of) the women wear strange masks that makes the market look like a superhero convention? And **Sewan Sharif, Pakistan**? - Contains the tomb of the famous Sufi saint Lal Qualander. Oh, and also **Mohenjo Daro, Pakistan** - home of the Indus Valley Civilisation. ---
