Be it kitchen, garage, bathroom, or even- gasp- bedroom, what is the one thing that you wish your SO would do without prompting? It could be coming home from work to hear Mr. Bologna Sandwich say, “I just feel like making spaghetti.” or maybe, hearing from little Miss Take the Trash Out, “Honey, I picked you up some beer and a couple of DVD’s.” Whatever your heart desires, and no need to ask. Either leave the seat up _or_ help sweep for ten minutes after I’ve spent the last three hours making everything else outside perfect. (I post this only because I actually can think of just one or two things. She’d look more like Moses with the list she’d have for me.) ---

Give me money. He’s my overdraft protection, my sugar daddy, etc. Not that he has that much more money…he’s just better with it. But I hate having to ask. I wish he’d just shower me with it. ---

1 - Keep me company while I make dinner. I don’t mind doing all the work (I like to cook) but I do ask that when I’m throwing together a dinner he sit down in the kitchen and talk to me while I do it. I KNOW it’s sometimes dull to do this - but goddamn it, I’m making dinner! No fair that you’re playing on the computer or talking on the phone or watching TV while I do all the work! The worst part is he knows he should sit and talk to me - we’ve talked about it and he agrees it’s a good thing to do. But somehow about once a week he “forgets” and I find myself in the kitchen chopping onions while he’s off playing. Grrrrr… 2 - Buy me flowers once a week. I don’t need expensive flowers - grocery store flowers are fine - but it sure would be nice! ---

Compliment me every once in a while…I know it’s not because he doesn’t find me attractive, I’m quite certain of that, it’s just that he never compliments anybody and hates getting compliments himself. And on the rare occasion that he tries, they’re too subtle for me to pick up on, like, “your hair is getting long.” What does that mean? I interpret it as just a neutral observation, not good or bad. Then, when I ask him why he never compliments me, he says, “I do! I commented on your hair the other day!” Sheesh. Not a big deal, but it would be nice to hear a, “you look beautiful” every once in a while. ---

Get off the computer a bit longer when I come home from work and want to talk. My SO does a LOT for me, but sometimes he gets so wrapped up in what he’s doing…but then, I spend a lot of time on my computer, too, so I do understand. I just have to occasionally remind him that I’m home and want to talk. Also little gifts. I got nothing for valentines day, nor our anniversary. The first we were both very busy, and just didn’t plan anything this year, but I did grab a rose for him at school on the way home. And the anniversary is always a bitch, because its within 10 days of my birthday AND his, as well as moving this year, so things were CRAZY, but a little card or something would have been nice. Just little things once in a while. But he cooks so well, and cleans more often than I have time for, so these aren’t really serious complaints 🙂 ---

Tell me when she’s hit 3K in her car. I’ve got a van, a truck, 3 motorcycles, all of which I am constantly trying to keep up on the maintenance. I don’t even think about her car, since I never drive it, so it’d be nice if she’d let me know when it’s time for an oil change. ---

Tell me something nice about me. He’s an absolute sweetheart and does so many little nice things (brings me coffee in bed, in physically affectionate, remembers my fav flavor of ice cream, etc.), but he’s just not one of those people who compliments others. Since I’m 16 years older than he is, a little reassurance would be nice once in a while… Of course, on the other hand, the mere fact that he’s my b/f when I _am_ 16 years older should probably be reassurance enough! 😃
