# What's the point of fancy dress / cosplay?

The impact is somewhat offset by the squid hat I bought today.

Really? Interesting. I didn’t know that.

Of course, I don’t know very many other fantasy fans, and the ones I do know tend not to know too many others either. So I’m mostly outside the great circle of fandom.

(I would like to dress up as a cat, if I could find a good enough costume).
