# What's the point of political correctness?

Right. About five years ago, I started [this thread in The BBQ Pit](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/if-you-whine-about-political-correctness-youre-a-bigot/725671) about people complaining about political correctness. Personally, I’m with you on it just meaning recognizing other humans as, in fact, humans.
