# What's the price range for a bridal shower gift these days?

Think in terms of upper middle class, big city types.

I usually spend anywhere from $75-150. It depends on how close I am to the person being married, etc.

What you can afford and feel moved to give.

Any bride who thinks otherwise should get coal in her proverbial stocking.

The last shower I was at, the range was probably $25-$100. I’m just thinking backwards from what was on the registry, most everything was in the $25-$75 range and most people gave one or two items. I spent $30 and was happy with that. This was in Chicago, and it was not a super-spendy crowd.

Anyhow, if you want observations then that’s what I observed.
