I’m not entirely sure if I can get contacts made, because I have an astigmatism in one eye and I’m slightly crosseyed, requiring me to wear glasses with a prism effect.
IIRC, when the Beretta M9s were first issued to the US military, there were problems where the slide would split in half, causing the back end of it to fly towards the shooter’s face at an unsafe velocity. This was apparantly a combination of the slide steel not being up to spec, and the ammunition used by the soldiers not being down to spec. They fixed the problems, and also redesigned the hammer so that IF the slide breaks in that fashion again, the hammer deflects it away from the shooter.
