Imagine you wake up suddenly and find you are in a hospital bed – your last memory is of walking around in the parking lot at work or school. Worse, you realize that you don’t have a stitch of clothing on, and nobody has a clue where it all went. Wedding ring and tongue stud gone too. Everything gone. What would be the replacement cost of it all? Assume you have your regular stuff with you. If you usually carry a laptop, include that. If you sport a Prada bag, include that. I was thinking about this as I purchased a new set of glasses the other day that came out to the absurd price of $500… For me: Shoes: $70 Socks: $5 Skivvies: $3 Pants: $30 Shirt: $30 Belt: $30 Wedding band: $200 Omega wristwatch: $1500 annoyingly-expensive glasses: $500 A-2 reproduction jacket: $400 Treo: $300 Memory card for Treo: $50 Swiss memory knife: $70 Wallet (without contents): $25 Comes out to $3213. Even if the main offender, the watch, is omitted, it would still be over $1700 bucks. That’s without even counting the problems resulting from losing the wallet contents. Holy crap! ---

(six pack for $5.00) Underwear - $1 (see above) Bra - $8 (Target clearance) Boots/shoes - $15 (either cheap tennis shoes or clearance shoes) Wallet - Just credit and debit cards. And library card and voter’s registration Sometimes up but not exceeding $20 cash wadded in my pockets Cellphone - $100 Total, including sometimes cash - $151. I’m a no-frills kinda gal.
