Is saying breasts unsafe in mixed company? If so, why? I just say breasts when I’m referring to breasts, by the way. ---

“Breasts” seems perfectly clear, and not terribly charged (unless said in a thoaty, husky voice… the, watch out!). My wife seems to prefer “boobs.” “Chest trumpets” is a new one to me! _grin_ ---

What? not one single cite of “Huuuuuge…tracts of land”? I say “breasts” to my parents, “tits” to my lover. Oddly enough, in polite conversation, the accepted usage among the folks I know is gestures; either the “she hadn’t a chance of containing those in that dress” gesture, which is both hands cupped about 6" in front of any actual tittage you might personally have, or the “bless her heart, they had to glue the strapless one on” gesture, which is the same basic area, with your hands flat and a slight up-down motion. My ex says “breasteses,” which makes me giggle. Probably the point, now that I think about it. Crow ---
