What's the scam here? Bunch of order confirmations not for me

If nothing else, you could mail

Jenna (redacted)
(redacted)
Plano, TX 75023

a letter and say “Thanks for the stuff! list stuff You put in a wrong email address and it’s mine now” with no return address.

They’ll look up the email address and contact you

I’m all about Allen Bros. Good meat and fun with dry ice all in one package!

I wonder if there’s ever been a thread about great food, mail orderable. If not, we should start one.

I got an e-mail from Taylor Gifts this morning, with a credit card decline notice. So I guess “Jenna’s” credit card has finally run out of credit.

Which would lead me to wonder if Jenna is the victim of the scam, and someone put in your email at random so she does not see order confirmations in time to cancel them.

I’m wondering why they’d use the OP’s address though. Maybe the scammer created something similar as a throwaway address and then forgot the exact address?

I’m kind of thinking there isn’t a Jenna. I can’t find her name anywhere.

Whitepages.com has a reverse mailing address lookup and the address is listed with a married couple, last name “Turkaspa.”

I’m wondering if the house might not be abandoned and somebody is using it as a drop for all this merchandise.

Still not sure why my e-mail is involved, but Ferret’s theory that they got their throwaway address wrong might be right.

**drach **& **Ferret **nailed it.

The bad guys stole Jenna’s credit card, bought a bunch of stuff online and had it sent to a dead house, and they provided one or more random email addresses to the various online merchants. At least some of the email addresses they entered happened to be control-z’s. We have no idea how many others email addresses the bad guys used nor whether they’re valid or not.

Wait, what do we think the scam could be here? The orders are for another person being sent to another state. The only weird thing is the emails going to you for some reason instead of her. You’re really not being purposefully engaged in any way are you? Just delete them and forget about them.

I, for one, think that control-z is being good for picking up on this and doing something about it. Fraud hurts us al in the end.
