Yet another score by Jerry Goldsmith! He got another Oscar nomination for “Basic Instinct” (as he did for “Planet of the Apes” - I’m not sure about “Poltergiest”.) At least he won an Oscar for “The Omen”. Has anyone mentioned his “Alien” score? Very creepy as well. And also, I believe, Oscar nominated.
My vote goes to Psycho. That sound STILL makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end!
Well, at least somebody mentioned Goblin, but I think *Deep Red/Profondo Rosso * is creepier. At the very least it is much more varied than Suspiria.
By the way, for those who haven’t seen Deep Red, a friend of mine compared the main theme to Tubular Bells as performed by Isaac Hayes.
