Couple weeks ago I chipped a molar on popcorn. Not an old maid, but just soft popcorn. Broke another one on a BBQ sandwich a year or so ago. Mt wife chipped one on meringue! You? ---

My first chipped tooth was during a bicycle crash at age 14. Not very interesting. My next was not exactly silly, but more interesting than the first. It was sixteen years later, during an unusually passionate kiss with a woman I knew in grad school. Didn’t fully realize it at first, but later I thought something didn’t feel right in my mouth. Then we found a little piece of tooth on the pillow. I’m telling you, that woman was an animal. A really beautiful, insatiable animal. ---

Not too interesting, but extremely silly… I was, I dunno, 8-9 years old, maybe older. Friend was over for a sleepover. We had the sleeping bags out on the living room floor. Friend gets up to use the bathroom. I decide to play a trick on him. I hide around the corner with an entire sleeping bag as a weapon, waiting to swing it over my head and hit him with it. He comes out. I wait. He gets closer. I swing… And, of course, fail completely to get the entire sleeping bag over my head. It catches me in the back of the skull, and slams me face-first into the floor. The resulting chip in my front tooth is the only reason I can whistle today. q;} ---

Half a molar on a boneless pork chop. Speaking of popcorn, the other night, my husband and I were eating popcorn and he went, ow, I hit something hard, took it out of his mouth, looked at it, and said it looks like a piece of a tooth! I started going blech, maybe we should sue, and he said, oh, it’s mine. For some reason I thought that was hilarious. ---

I’ve only chipped one tooth. I was ten and was swimming in a pool. The chlorine was burning my eyes, so I shut them… and hit the bottom of the pool. (I prefer to swim underwater.) Not very silly, I fear; but that’s all I have. ---

I was chatting with a friend one day, piece of gum in my gob when all of a sudden it felt like my face had been struck by lightening. The next day that side of my face was swollen and I couldn’t chew anything. Went to the dentist who told me I had completely split my tooth in half! When he found out how it happened he just laughed at me. Cheers doc… I’ve also pulled out a tooth at aged 6 or so trying to pull some Tinker Toys apart with my teeth. Tooth got stuck in one of the holes and my babysitter made me pull my tooth out whilst she laughed at me, blood gushing down my chin… Character building? ☹ Hubby chipped half his tooth off whilst eating mashed 'tato… ---

My grand daughter’s forehead. My wife and I took our twin grand daughters to a water park. The twins wanted to go down a kiddy water slide. Samantha went first by herself but Alicia chickened out so she went down on my lap. When Samantha got to the bottom she decided to come back up to see where Alicia was. We came around the last bend and Samantha was climbing up the water slide. We all crashed together and slid to the bottom of the slide. I ended up with a chipped tooth and swollen cheek, Alicia tool an elbow to the chest and ended up with a large bruise and Samantha got a knot on her forehead. ---

A dried apricot totalled one of my back molars. I was lucky not to have a root canal, and now I have a lovely gold crown. Back when I was eleven and my brother nine, we were hanging out in his room. I was twirling his soccer medal on my finger by its ribbon. It slipped off and smacked my poor bro right in the mouth. Broke one of his front teeth. He’s had a couple of caps, but they fall off after a few years, so nowadays, he just let’s his snaggle tooth live free and happy. ---
