I’ve been going to a few Christmas choir concerts over the last couple of days, which is always quite enjoyable and soothing. And it’s pretty much the only time I go to church. But it got me thinking about what the Worlds Largest Choir might be? And then I don’t mean several thousand people in a field singing along (like [this](http://www.7is7.com/otto/estonia/tallinn_largestchoir.html)) or a gathering of 50 regular Choirs to perform for the Pope or President. Those are all Google will give me ☹ So, what could be the worlds largest regularly performing Choir? Anyone have any ideas? ---

There are 360 members in the [Mormon Tabernacle Choir.](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mormon_Tabernacle_Choir) I don’t know if it’s the largest, but I imagine they’re up there near the top of the list. ---

Nifty! Thank you. Maybe some national army choir is larger? Maybe the \*North Korea’s Glorious Leader’s Army’s Choir \*, or whatever it would be called? I can’t find any info on that though ☹ ---

If I don’t lay off the _Chocolate Trinity_ ice cream, my choir is going to become the largest, at least in terms of sheer tonnage. RR ---

It is hard to get large groups together for rehearsals & such, have places for them to perform, etc. I once sang with what was termed a “college of choirs” where altogether we were 750 voices. We only sang as that large a group twice a year and as smaller groups on a more regular basis. ---

It’s probably pushing the boundaries of the “regularly performing” definition, but our [ChorusOz](http://www.sydneyphilharmonia.com.au/chorusoz.html) gets together, rehearses and performs a major work on the Queen’s Birthday long weekend in June each year. There are about 1000 choristers. ---

So, now it’s either ChorusOZ (if we count once per year) or the College of Choirs if we count several times a year. Either way, it’s way cool with so many people singing!
