I borrowed a “Film Noir” collection from my local library a couple weeks ago and it included “The Naked Kiss” starring Constance Bennett. The acting was awful, the plot was pathetic and they even managed to add singing. It was laughably awful. ---

Coyote’s ploys). I enjoyed it, but then, I was 14. 😃 ---

It was laughably awful. That would be Constance Towers, not Bennett. _The Naked Kiss_ is a cult film with an incredible opening sequence. Its exploration of the dark underside of small town life - including child abuse - is very unusual for a movie released in 1964. That said, it’s not for all tastes. ---

The whole “Let’s take a concept/book series/tv show beloved by millions and take a great big dump on it to show how cool we are” genre. _Lone Ranger_, _Wild, Wild West_, _Dark Shadows_, _Land Of The Lost_, _The Avengers_, _CHiPS_ and I don’t know how many others. ---

Clancy Brown is interviewed for Random Roles on the AV club today. He talks about being asked to do Highlander 2, and refusing. Apparently Christopher Lambert called him and asked him personally, but the ten pages of script he was given were a mess.
