What's the worst part of painting?

Prepping the walls is the worst part. Cleaning the brushes is the second worst part. The painting itself I rather enjoy, actually.

And no tape unless you’re doing some graphic designs or something that requires straight lines. For corners & trim, just go slowly and carefully.

Nobody said roller work, so I just wanted to share some hate for that one. The first swipe’s okay, but then the next one will be a little sparser, and the next a little more so, and before you know it, you’re practically scrubbing paint into the wall with the damned thing. And when it’s time to clean up…no, fuck it, just buy a new one! You can rinse it for an hour and paint will still come out.

I enjoy the entire process of painting, but the older I get, the more painful it becomes. I still enjoy doing it, but now it involves stretching exercises and medications.

I hate painting the trim. I just painted our hallway recently, which includes a stairwell and an overlook into the two-story entry. Between the stairs and the overlook there were 44 balusters that required painting. I think I spent a day and a half running up and down the stairs and dangling off ladders just to do the freaking balusters! Most of our house is carpeted so painting baseboards is no fun either.

Other - Sanding!

I worked for a painting company for a summer after I move to the big city. I spent 40 hours a week sanding things that other people painted. Worst job I ever had.
