Our Bulldog Sydney is another member of the Vacuums Must Die Club. Every time we have to convince her to let its wheels live. She is also terrified of/disgusted by water if it’s not in her bowl. She learned this from her late Big Sister Bitz the Rott/Lab mix. Bitz was terrified of water to the point she’d drag you into the street if there was a puddle on the sidewalk.
Mala the Italian mastiff/bullmastiff mix isn’t afraid of anything except being scolded. Gunshots, vacuums, none of the usual suspects phase her at all. Dad raises his voice and she’s a puddle.
Wow, they touched noses? My dog tries to chase (and eventually kill, but not eat, because he’s well fed) every non-dog and non-person that sets foot on the property. So while he’s been wildly successful with groundhogs, raccoons, and rabbits, he once tried to down a deer. The deer kicked him square in the nose, and Weezy has put as much distance between himself and any deer on the property every since.
He also used to be afraid of the treadmill, but we used some of Caesar Milan’s techniques to reduce it to mild annoyance.
