Being a newbie is all relative, sweetie. **Dave Dave Davin** -"I made one post to my friend who had just signed up and Wally up there said: "People, please do not feed the cockroach. Let mine be the only post here. Please." That doesn’t sound too bad to me. He said please and something about feeding a cockroach, that doesn’t seem like it’s supposed to be taken seriously. What thread was this in? I once opened a thread called [Nobody post here!](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=26880) and of course everyone did, just as I expected them to. My anger at them posting there was all tongue-in-cheek, and it seemed most people got the joke. Are you sure you didn’t just miss the joke? ---

Some of us newbies are also old folk, so please don’t use that as a criterion. Old folk know how to relax, so we don’t put up with troublemakers. ---

WallyM7 You know nothing about it. Dave told me to sign up and said the “Where’s Alphonse” idea seemed like a good name. But my system crashed and I had to go, so Dave was trying to reach me but my epager was off. Then you start up, then I’m not allowed my own thread(Because I’m new, I suppose) And so you don’t know me or him. Or Texas, apparently. ---
