# What's this part that came with my iPod Nano?

It’s a white plastic rectangle with rounded corners (2 3/4 x 1 1/8). On the flat side there’s a slot that the iPod fits into. On the other side there are raised shapes and what appears to be a rectangular gray button with the number 11 on it. Was this just part of the packaging or does it have a use?

I believe it is an adapter to be used for docking ports. The instruction swill tell you.

Thanks. I won’t be docking it to anything so I’ll stash it away. The printed instruction sheet doesn’t mention it and the Apple iPod website is so devoted to selling you this week’s new shapes and colors that it’s daunting to even think about trying to find help with last week’s models.
