Seriously, what gives? Are people just insecure, whiny, ignorant asses? This is not in response to any thread in particular. I have only gotten a few posts into any thread railing on him, because they all seem to lack merit. I’ve grown tired of people lashing out for no good reason, at a person whom I think is pretty respectable. I’m not sure about his beliefs (I never go into GD because debate angers the blood), but I’m sure we may differ on a few topics. However, this does not make him an unreasonable person (unless he’s a creationist, in which case have fun). **tomndebb** is rational and tactful, almost to a fault IMO. I think he could tell me that he had to kill my parents, and after having explained himself, I would understand. I fully expect to be “torn to shreds” by the people that have an issue with him, but I don’t really care. I’m just genuinely curious as to why someone might have a serious problem with him. To answer a few of the first questions preemptively: No, I have no reason to kiss his ass, nor do I think I am doing so. No, I will not kindly fuck myself. No, I will not read 30 pages of inane banter in order to understand what you mean. Summarize. No, I do not own a zither. Yes, I would like to subscribe to your newsletter. ---

I don’t know. I guess that just by being a Mod, it’s inevitable that he’s going to make some decisions which displease people. Personally, I think he’s long been one of the sanest, most patient and reasonable posters on the board, as well as having a good level of base knowledge on the topics he shows the most interest in talking about. I’ve never had any issues with the guy even when he’s used his Mod stick on me. I think he’s a good contributor as a poster and a fair moderator. One thing I’ve noticed about him is that he almost never uses profanity. That’s pretty unusual for this board. ---

Nutters come to the boards pretty frequently. Nutters with agendas naturally gravitate to GD. Once in GD, Nutters can be polite, engaging and interesting to debate with, but more frequently soon turn into poo-flinging howler monkeys. At this point **Tom** , being a GD mod, steps in and tells them to knock it off. The Nutter, being a Nutter, blows a fuse at this and we get yet another anti- **Tom** thread. It may seem like there’s more Tomhate in the last month or two since the current Nutter and his waterboy have been particularly prolific posters who deliberately try to dance on the line between ‘judgment call’ and ‘automatic banning’. ---

I like and admire **tomndebb**. I don’t often agree with his personal political views, but as a Mod, he is excellent. In fact, pretty well I have no problems at all with any of the Staff here. I have seen far, _far_ worse. Trust me. (Ok, there’s one Mod who is a bit stuck on dudes who have self-identified themselves as Professionals, but it’s a small thing.) ---
