Okay, I asked this in a previous threrad about the post-Crisis DCU, and the thread promptly died, so I’ll ask again here. I see that Kara (or somone we’re meant to think is Kara, at least), has returned as of Superman/Batman #8. Whatever happened to the Matrix/Linda Danvers Supergirl. Y’know the one, half shape-shifting blob from a pocket universe, half reformed devil worshiper. Had flaming wings. I liked that series, but have been away from comics as a whole until very recently. Kara herself appeared as a spiritual being in its pages. And, as long as I’m here, in Teen Titans, I see that Superboy is now a 50% clone of Superman and a 50% clone of Luthor. While this gives hope to all gay human/Kryptonian couples wishing to reporduce, I must ask, when the hell did that happen? The identity of SB’s gene donor was settled rather early in his solo series, it was Paul Westfield, the shifty director of Cadmus. Was this explained or just swept under the rug? ---

I’m not 100% clear on everything that happened to Supergirl in her book… I didn’t pick it up while Peter David was there, much to my chagrin. As for the Superboy issue : My understanding is, that during Superboy’s adventure through hypertime, Westfield … (well, one of him) made contact with a substance that apparently wipes anyone who touches it out of all timelines. Yeah, pretty hokey. But it left Superboy without an identified gene donor. ---

Right up to the end of the _Supergirl_ series, Linda Danvers travelled back in time and lived a life as the Golden Age Supergirl. She also married Superman at one point, and gave birth to the kid who’d eventually become Supergirl One Million (for those who remembered that gimmick). She then returned to her original time, sent Kara back to the Golden Age Supergirl timeline to die in _Crisis On Infinite Earths,_ and fought an all-powerful evil being who was destryoing Supergirls from across the multiverse. She then ran away from home. While it’s not officially stated, it’s _strongly_ hinted that she’s now the red-headed “Lee” vigilante in the **Fallen Angel** comic book series (also written by Peter David). ---

Plus, at the moment, I think there are actually about _three_ Supergirls, all in the main continuity. At least one of them seems to be Superman (and Lois’?) daughter, transported back a couple decades from the future. I might be getting the details wrong, though. I’m more of a Marvel man, myself…and there seems to be surprisingly scant information on some DC Characters, on the web. (Well, compared to their Marvel counterparts, that is.) ---
