# What's up with The Cure?

I saw them about 2 years ago on their Bloodflowers tour, which was their last album release. Since then, I’ve not heard a word about the band and their website is woefully out of date. Any idea what these guys are up to?

I’ve heard from various sources that they’re recording a new album. I can’t find any concrete information on the Internet, but from what I’ve heard, some dude (Ross Robinson) who is best-known for producing for metal bands–Slipknot and the Blood Brothers (!) will be doing his thing for their new album. I can’t help but wonder if this is all some twisted joke. Apparently, they’ve signed to a [label](http://www.iamrecordings.com) which has included Glassjaw, the Blood Brothers, and Amen among its lineup. What a bizarre juxtaposition.

They did recently release their Trilogy Concert on DVD, which I thought was a pretty cool idea. For those of you who don’t know, they played one show where they played “Pornography”, “Disintegration”, and “Bloodflowers” IN FULL with short intermissions between. They only did a couple of these and filmed them for a DVD. For fans who really love the band, this seems like a fantastic idea - not all that interesting for non-hardcore fans, but a cool idea nonetheless.
I don’t know how they are going about selling this dvd set, I’ve just heard talk about it on Depeche Mode sites 😃

I saw the Trilogy DVD in the store the other day. I considered buying it, but decided I couldn’t afford it right now. It seems to be on one disc, but I didn’t look at it all that closely.
