Okay, I think I understand that you are talking about a strict subset set of tax protesters who are essentially “tax-deniers”. Comparatively speaking these guys have always just been a small nut in the bag of fringe movements. I was talking about the entire set including Tea Partiers whose overall numbers did in fact explode after Obama’s inauguration.
Even talking about the fringer tax-deniers, I still think you are on thin ground repeating that their motive has nothing to do with race. What they have in common with the birthers is that they believe they’ve found a sound technical issue which they can flog instead of openly identifying as racists.
And taxes are a heavily racially loaded issue. You are 100% wrong in denying it. Many base their arguments on whether the moochers are getting too much, or the fat cats are keeping too much, falling neatly on racial lines.
Back to the point. Birthers believe Obama i not a legal president because they want to, desperately. The facts have been made clear. But they are trying to find a way to justify their hatred.

C’mon. Saying that Obama is not a NBC because the annexation of Hawaii was illegal is way better that the standard Certificate of Live Birth =/= birth certificate. I should at least get a couple points for creativity.
