A blank sheet of high-quality paper. I’ll sit and appreciate it for a minute or more before I can bear to lay down words on it. The smell of Sheaffer Skrip black ink. Only black, don’t ask me why. Bet I look funny with inkstains on my nose. Refilling a fountain pen (Aside from the ink smell). I love doing this, almost an obsessive-compulsive thing, and I’ll do it even when I still have a half-full tank. Raw mesquite honey on coarse bread. Wasa Crispbread. Writing and food, my two great pleasures. It’ll be a long, lonely trip, methinks. ---

pool. That’s my number 1 addiction. There is no life without pool. I only schedule vacations spots that include a decent pool hall. Heck, I’ll take a vacation just so I can stay home all week and play pool. After that it would have to be books. For me, it’s mainly theoretical math books and sci-fi. I have the attention span of a hamster on crack so I never finish one before seeing another book I must have. topology, chaos, number theory and a few others I always mean to get through…someday. My current sci-fi favorites are David Weber’s “Honor” series and Elizabeth Moon’s series with Esmay Suiza. Coke (the soft drink.) chocolate. coffee. playstation games. ---

Computer games. I could seriously be locked in a room for days on end if I had a really good game or two. I’m currently worrying about how I’ll find time to play CivIII when it comes out, being that I’m already hopelessly addicted to EverQuest, and Mr. Athena occasionally needs some care & feeding as well. ---

Even if it doesn’t get me aroused, I just have to see every type of porn imaginable. Nuns pissing on guys dressed like Nazi soldiers? All the good addictions are verboten to me. I have so many allergies and sensitivites . . . It sucks. So, no caffeine, sugar, nicotine or alcohol. You might think that I’d be a scarily healthy person under these conditions, but unfortunately not.
