A chef. I have a chefā€™s jacket that I had to wear when I took a cooking class a few semesters ago, and a chefā€™s toque that I bought at Disney World. Big freaking whoop. ---

Iā€™ll be tying a few empty tin cans to my belt, Iā€™ll have a stack of movie cases and will have balloons and streamers and other party stuff around myself. Iā€™m going as the Cannes film festival. ---

Was planning being Devil in a Blue Dress, but I canā€™t find a blue dress anywhere, at least not one I can afford considering Iā€™ll likely never wear it again. I do have the devil horns, etc, so Iā€™ll just be a devil if I canā€™t find anything else. The husband is going as Jack Skellington. If heā€™d decided sooner Iā€™d have gone as Sally, but I donā€™t have time to get a costume together. ---

Not me, but **Mrs Duckster**. Last year she dressed entirely in a pink pantsuit, pink skin, pink hair, and an old tennis shoe attached to the top of her head. She won first prize at her office party because no one figured it out. This year she is planning to attach [these](http://www.smarties.com/) to her clothes, with a tiny _working_ light bulb on the top of her head. ---

Iā€™m going as CSI Sara Sidle. I made a CSI vest like they wear on the show out of some old t-shirts. I will carry my Nikon d50 wtih me because they carry cameras similar. I wanted a free costume that would be comfortable - the CSIs on the show get to wear their regular clothes, so I will wear a black button down, jeans and my Pumas under the vest. ---

The Hubster and I are going as El Duderino (since weā€™re not into that whole brevity thing) and Maude Lebowski from _The Big Lebowski._ We got most of his costume yesterday, and everything just screams ā€œburned out slacker bum.ā€ Iā€™m still looking for the perfect robe to wear so I can tear it open and say ā€œJeffrey. Love me.ā€ Good times. Last year we went as cats, which in and of itself is lame, but we went as our cats, which makes it either cool or frightening, depending on your point of view. I made ears and a tail for each of us and painted them to look like our catsā€™ coats, and then we painted our faces to match the cats as well. The year before that we went to a party that had ā€œthe '80sā€ as the theme. I went as a serving wench (they didnā€™t specify which '80s, so I figured that the 1780s were fair game) and The Hubster went as a Chia Pet (khaki clothes, orange face paint, green fuzzy wig), which no one got. The year before that we were Mario and Luigi, which is a surprisingly easy costume to put together. ---

I will post pictures, but for that I have to track down someone to hold the camera, whoā€™s around in daylight, at the same time. So far this has not happened. I might ask a friend to take pics of me at the club, because Iā€™m sure itā€™ll look cool under UV. ---

Iā€™m going as a murder scene. So far Iā€™ve decided to wear: ā€”Police tape tied and draped on various parts of my body ā€”Fake knives and blood ā€”Evidence (playing cards, glove, threatening letters, maybe a cigarette butt or three) taped to different parts of my body ā€”Post-It notes with letters on them to identify different parts of the scene ā€”Fingerprints made with blood and dirt ā€”Maybe fake semen, depends on if petroleum jelly looks enough like semen to work I havenā€™t dressed up for Halloween since I was twelve. I hope people will ā€œgetā€ what Iā€™m supposed to be. Hey, it beats being a generic pirate wench, you know? ---

I used the glycerin-soaked real-but-preserved leaves from the craft store and a black butterfly face mask with real leaves attached with thin wires so they looked like they were swirling around my head. I wish I had a picture of it, it was really neat. Soā€¦tell me what you were last year so Iā€™ll know what Iā€™m going to be next year! šŸ˜ƒ ---

Iā€™ll be working on Halloween as well as tomorrow night, so Iā€™m hard pressed to find a party that Iā€™ll be attending. But Iā€™ll be dressed as a security / bouncer. Iā€™ve got black BDUs and steel toed boots. I ordered a black ā€œSECURITYā€ t-shirt and hit up the army/navy surplus store to get a utility belt and handcuffs.
