Divorced for 14 years, currently in a 2.5 hour apart long-distance relationship. She does most of the driving, drives here on weekends. ---

A friend set me up with a girl 3 years ago but we never went out. A couple of months ago she decided she wants to date me so we’ve been talking but I live 1000 miles away so we’re kind of doing the long distance thing but very casually. This weekend I met a great girl who live 500 miles from me currently and in about a month will live 150 miles away. I hoping to go see her this weekend so I can drop #1 and start a long distance thing with her. I’m still looking for a girl who is local so even this will probably be a casual thing. ---

I was set up with a long-distance girl once (my friend’s cousin, about 850 miles away). Here’s how it worked out: Early November: first email Late November: first phone call Mid December: first meeting (my city) Late Decemer: second meeting (her city) January: I see her every two weeks (her city) Mid February: I meet her parents, propose, she accepts March: She meets my parents May: I move to her city September: wedding (9 1/2 years ago) So you could say it worked out all right. ---

I went with single since I am. There is someone I am interested in, but she is 4700 miles away, with an ocean between, so I have not told her of my interest or done more than exchanged emails. When things improve, I will probably try my luck. Worst I could do is destroy a budding friendship.
