Wow, interesting topic! I am a worrier by nature, but number one with a bullet was always losing my husband (to death, or worse yet, severe disability). I can’t function worrying about this all the time, so I have tried to not dwell on it. As for me, I have a giant fear of being in a capture situation where my hands are bound behind me. Somehow that seems like the ultimate loss of control, and that would be my undoing. I think I can handle most things thrown at me but that might cause excessive freaking out.

Terrible things come out of nowhere on a bright, sunny day (why is it that good things never come out of nowhere and body slam you? I know: good things happen slowly, bad things happen fast). I actually end every day lying in bed, lights out, observing that this was an entire day during which nothing bad happened. Kinda wish I had known that would be the case when I woke up that morning.

Aliens, since I don’t know what the \*\*\*\* they are. (And yes, I am aware of incubus dreams.)

Compared to that, terrorists, meth-heads, mobsters, tornadoes, flash floods, outbreaks of deadly diseases, and earthquakes are nothing. (Yes, I’ve been through all those and tend to lose my fear afteward.)

# 1 for me is being buried alive! I absolutely cannot watch anything like this in a movie or on TV. Don’t know why but especially if I couldn’t get my legs up into the fetal position, if I was stuck in a flat out position when buried alive. That really terrifies me …

# 2 is whirlpools in water - When I was growing up, I lived near a creek that flooded a lot in the spring. These huge whirlpools would form and they would just suck everything down, down, down. It was so damn scary and I always kept my distance like it had some magical force that was gonna reach out from the water and pull me down into it. There was a HUGE one that formed out in the ocean after the earthquake in Japan. Oh my Lord!!! It was sickening and nauseating to watch. Sucking everything down…

Losing the only thing I have, my mind… Turns out, it isn’t hard to do -

just try understanding what you can’t understand

I just wanted to add, watch Inception and think about being stuck in a dream, the wife couldn’t explain the unexplainable and lost her mind…

Also, just because one person can make sense of something doesn’t mean you can. For things I can’t understand or refuse to understand, I like to “charge it to the game” [of life]… Like DiCaprio did in Inception … Just accept it

For the people in fear of being in a tight dark scary situation, once your there the fear is over, those survival instincts will kick in and overtake the fear. Watch [127 Hours](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1542344/)

There is also a movie with someone being [buried](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1462758/) alive, although I haven’t watch it…
