Mods, I’m not running a formal poll and it’s music-related so I stuck this here instead of in IMHO. Move if need be. What’s your favorite Eagles song? Hands down, mine is [Already Gone](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYCPccFQHWA). These guys, they epitomize SoCal 1970’s cocaine-drenched rock and yet some of their stuff has hooks I cannot get out of my head for DAYS. ( There’s probably a name for this problem. 😃 ) Like the band a lot. LURVE this song. What’s yours? ---

You’re brave to start this thread 'round these parts. The Eagles hatred runs strong here. That being said… Desperado. One of the greatest soft-rock/pop songs ever. I love love love it and often just sing it or hum it randomly. Also it was used to great effect in a Seinfeld episode, so it has that going for it. Honorable mentions: Lyin’ Eyes, Witchy Woman, and yes, Hotel California (it’s good when I’m in the mood) ---

Yanno, someone with a fuckload of time on their hands, a car that runs on drug fumes and a list of great songs could do a fantastic road trip. Hit all of the places named in your top 100 songs. WHICH corner in Winslow?? I could hijack my own thread into this idea. Hmmm. People are so drawn to the real-life places depicted in songs, films, etc. I had the poor luck to be working in Scranton, PA during the “The Office Big Wrap Party” weekend. --shudder-- Bleary-eyed travelers dragging into the hotel lobby, testily demanding, " Okay. So WHERE’S THE SIGN?? " 😃 ---

Love the Eagles! Take it to the Limit!!! (with honorable mention to Hotel California (both the record, with its classic dueling guitars at the end and the Live accoustic version), Desparado, Lyin Eyes, New Kid in Town, Wasted Time, NY Minute. . . . (Ok that’s too many!) BTW, that documentary about them on Showtime is must see TV. ---

I have always enjoyed _Journey of the Sorcerer_. Y’all may know it better as the theme to _The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy_. And I believe I liked it even before I saw or heard the series. ---

As much as I love the classic Eagles tunes, my favorite these days has to be “Get Over It.” There is so much venom and truth in that song. ---

Madame Pepperwinkle would use “Desperado” as theme music if she appeared on a talk show (unlikely). My favorite is “Seven Bridges Road”, but I’m a sucker for harmony. ---

I have to answer “Desperado” for sentimental reasons. Sometimes I almost think I’m tired of it (I’ve been listening to it most of my life after all) but then I hear it and get all “that’s our song” and I love it again. Other than that, “Lyin’ Eyes” and “Peaceful Easy Feeling” which makes me feel so '70s I’m practically wearing bellbottoms. ---

I’ve always been one of the “Hate 'em” group. But it’s really Gram Parsons’ fault, for being a trust fund baby who’d rather jam with the Stones than keep a band together. And then he OD’d, leaving the field to the Eagles. So they aren’t that bad–not that I have any Eagles albums. However, every time I hear “Take It Easy” I really want to get in a convertible & head west on I10. (Except that, this time of the year, it would have to be a convertible with top up & a really good AC.) And I fondly remember The Legendary Blaze Foley singing “Avocado”–his “tribute” to “Desperado.” A surprising number of his tunes have been released since his death, but that tune seems to have been omitted… ---
