My dad loved summer cherries. They are usually available end of June and early July. He’d spend 15 mins carefully slicing several off the pit for his cereal topping. I tried them that way and they were pretty good. But I really prefer eating cherries all by themselves. I included apple in the poll because they do sell Kellogg’s Apple Jacks. Figured some people might want real apples on cereal. ---

bananas , blueberries , or strawberries . But after I read that some strawberries are being dyed red I don’t buy them as much . ---

I like dried fruit the best on cereal, it’s the chewiness I think. Dried cranberries, cherries and blueberries are my favorites. ---

blueberries are my absolute favorite but strawberries, cherries, raspberries, raisins and other fruits are all good. ---

In summer, strawberries from the garden and fresh peaches from the market. Also boysenberries when in season. During winter, our canned peaches or some raisins and walnuts. ---

Raisins, dried cranberries, or nothing for me. I think it’s a texture thing like **Periwinkle** mentions - I’m not a fan of fresh fruit on cereal. I think I’ve eaten a couple of cereals that had dried cherries already in them - that could certainly work, although I’ve never added them after-market. (Mostly because we don’t tend to have them around…) ---

Back in the bountiful summer of '76, when I was but a wee lass, I put raisins, peaches, bananas, and various kinds of berries which we hand picked ourselves onto my cereal. I can’t recall what kind of cereal it was but I so appreciated the fruit abundance that I took a picture of it before I ate it. ---

I like to eat fruit by itself, good fruit does not require embellishment. So, for me, I’d prefer the cereal bowl full of cereal with the fruit on the side. ---

I put bananas on my raisin bran. I don’t eat bananas other than on cereal and I don’t put any other fruit on cereal. ---
