My favorite pieces are-

**Bethovens 9th - Ode to Joy** Possibly the greatest ever compostion IMHO

Songs played at our wedding are also right up there:

**Pachebel Canon** (sp?) - This music almost makes me cry whenever I hear it. I was fine at the wedding until I heard the orchestra starting it for my cue to enter the church.

**Trumpet Voluntary** - Jerrimiah Clarke (sp?) - Not as much of a favorite as Canon, but a fine piece nevertheless.

There are several more of course, but these are the ones that come to mind. Anyone else?

I haven’t had a wedding (that I remember), but my favorite classical piece is Mozart’s “Eine kleine Nachtmusik.”

All-time best classical: “Ride of the Valkyries”, Wagner.

I’ll second the motion for Pachelbel Canon. I’m also quite partial to Smetana’s The Moldau.

I love way too many pieces to have a favorite, but the recessional at our wedding was one of the _Hornipe_s from Handel’s _Water Music_.

Tchaikovski’s 5th.
Too many more to mention.

My best friend and her husband walked down the aisle to the theme from Black Adder. It was pretty funny to watch the twelve people who got it try to keep a straight face through the processional.

Hmm my favorite pieces of classical music would have to be Ride of the Valkyries and Moonlight Sonata.

Elgar’s Nimrod (my favourite **and** played at our wedding). (/sissy on) It’s the only piece which consistently makes me well up (/sissy off). No idea why. Music’s a hobby of mine and I once spent 3 weeks’ worth of evenings sequencing (think music word-processor) every individual instrument from the score. Sounded great by the end, but each evening I’d end up dehydrated. 😃

Favorite Piece of Classical Music: Probably Beethoven’s 5th Symphony – the Whole thing, not just the opening.

Music we Played at our Wedding: The Shaker Hymn “Simple Gifts” (and variations of it, including Copland’s adaptation). I know, the Shakers were a celibate group, so what were we doing playing a Shaker hymn at a wedding? Well, we liked the music and the sentiment.

Wedding Music: the standards. So we’re boring. 🙂

Favorite piece: Mozart’s Symphony No. 40, and Tchaikovsky’s “Waltz of the Flowers” from the Nutcracker Suite.

Instrumental:
Hindemith - “Mathis der Maler”

Vocal:
Mahler - "Das Knaben Wunderhorn

Opera:
Mozart - “Die Zauberfloete”

Not married yet. Gotta think about that one.

Favourite? A top contender would be pretty much all of Mussorsky’s “Pictures At An Exhibition.”

I have Borodin’s “On the Steppes of Central Asia” (main melody) tattooed around my right bicep. This is in memeory of my father.

My wedding was a big fat hairy mistake, so I try not to remember much about it.

Favorite: Beethoven’s _Pathetique_
Wedding processional: I think it was Greensleeves, but that’s not what I asked him to play. It was supposed to be a song by the Chieftains, but I guess he couldn’t get a section the right length, etc.
Wedding recessional: Jersey Girl by Springsteen (the live version!).

It’s rather a shame that I am never going to marry, as it would be fun to have my favorite music played: Lehar’s “Merry Widow Waltz.”
