Can we include honorable-mention chips? I came across Eta’s _ **Roast Lamb & Mint** _ chips in New Zealand. Pretty tasty. I see that they have Salmon and Caper chips, too–I’m not to sure about those.

Haven’t you had a really good clam dip? I recommend Heluva Good Clam Dip alhough again, they don’t carry that in the backwards south. Imagine that tasty dip on a chip and you will know what I’m talking about (sorry, ‘aboot’ for you).

I’ll even say they are so good that you don’t need a serviette (seriously, who the fuck calls a napkin a serviette?!?!?!)

I recognize these words, but strung together they have no meaning for me.

Please don’t mock my accent, I’m very sensitive aboot it.

I just remembered blue-corn chips in New Mexico. Not strictly potato chips, though, but maybe an honorable mention.

And speaking of corn chips, Frito’s I miss.

They don’t make em the way they used to. Shearers is too greasy (not to mention the bag is half full), Lays is too dry, Dan Dee is way sucky Snyders not tasty enough.
I enjoy Dirtys chips when I can find them.
Why all these flavors? Are plain chips not good enough anymore?
Bar be que can be good, but they are overreaching now with stuff like mustard and spicy wings.

I wonder if they were named different things for different parts of Canada and the US, or if that style of chip was just trendy for a bit. Did O’Grady’s have lots and lots of seasoning powder stuff on them?

They came in sour cream & onion and cheese flavor, as well as plain. I don’t remember them being any more covered in flavoring or powder than regular Lay’s chips.

It’s a toss-up between the original Miss Vickie’s, Smartfood, French Onion Sunchips, and regular Ruffles, and now I hate you all so much because it’s two in the morning and I’m hungry. ☹

And a toilet is a crappiette?

Sorry, I’m just befuddled that of anyone to not dig sour cream and clam, it would be fellow northerners. I mean, are there are more flavors meant to go together than potato, salt, and clam?

Serviette is a French word that had entered the vernacular in Canada. We also prefer our clams to be juiced and combined with tomato juice and vodka.

Anything unsalted. I just like the taste of fried potato better than fried, salted potato.

Usually, this means buying Salt-N-Shake and throwing away the little blue bag, but they’re not really very good crisps. Occasionally, it’s possible to find decent quality kettle-chip types in a ‘naked’ (unsalted) variety.

I really, really like the Lay’s Honey BBQ Twists (my sons call them “slides”) and I absolutely adore the Snyder’s Honey Mustard and Onion Pretzel Pieces. Damn those are good. OK, neither of those are really “chips”, per se…I guess I could vote for Jalapeno Pringles (especially at a buck a can), most varieties of kettle-cooked chips, salt and vinegar chips, and the venerable classic, plain Lay’s chips.
