I live in London but my favourite restaurant is in Los Angeles. It’s the restaurant at the Hotel Bel Air. I’ve only been there once, but I plan to visit LA again and I will definitely re-visit. It is horrifically expensive, and in my view worth every cent.
Here on home turf, my favourite is Le Gavroche. Best restaurant in London, easily, and possibly in Europe (according to a gastronomically knowledgeable French friend of mine).
Demos’ downtown. The only steak place I know where a bowl of spaghetti is a side dish! You can also get the world’s greatest hash browns as a side (I just discovered those about a month ago.)
If anyone comes to town, look me up and I’ll take ya down there.
My favourite place to eat in Kaohsiung (Taiwan) is a real grungy little Thai place. Absolutely the best Pad Thai and Coconut Chicken I’ve ever had.

Favorite restaurant… well, for what type of foo? I’m afraid than I can’t pick just one. In Toronto, probably Pho Hung, on Bloor opposite the museum. Very good food, and also very cheap. Free jasmine tea, friendly staff, and perfect pho (vietnamese beef-noodle soup). I love Vietnamese and pan-Asian restaurants.
Also the Red Tea Box for eclectic, interesting lunch stuff and beautiful cakes and desserts. It’s a bit out of my normal price range ($8 for a pot of tea. No, really it’s worth it. It’s amazing, organic, perfectly brewed tea) so I don’t eat there very often.
There’s also a lovely British-style brew pub just down my street that has excellent pub food- bangers and mash, shepherd’s pie, roast beef sandwiches, fries and gravy.
I’m starving. Lunchtime.

Okay…beings that I love ribs…I’ll add this joint to my list w/out ever eating there!
My favorit is Fago Di Chiao (spelling)…the two I know of and have dined at are in Dallas and Atlanta. There is no way to explain this glutton fest of meat.
20 different guys have instantly named it their favorite place in my presence.
Outback Steakhouse (I could eat a Bloomin’ Onion every day!) and Bertucci’s Pizza. (Though they just tore down the one near Tysons Corner. The office building it was in was less than 40 years old, but they’re replacing it anyway. Huh?)
Dougie’s BBQ in New York City. 3 locations, one of which is three blocks from my house.
Obviously (for those who’ve known me on the board), it’s Kosher, so know not to expect any pork, shellfish or dairy products should you ever desire to visit.
