a very tough call, but I’m going to say **Kid Charlemagne**.
might have been **Peg** , had not that one been so over played on the radio.

If I had to pick, I’d say “Reelin’ in the years,” because of the awesome guitar solo. But really, I don’t think of Steely Dan as having individual _songs_. I just think of them as an ethereal _substance_, that has no beginning or ending. It just _is_. Like The Dude, they abide.

I almost got in a fistfight with a clubowner who said I looked like Donald Fagen with my black cashmere sportcoat on during a rehearsal at his bar.
Security Jooooaaan. Search me now! (Probably my favorite – great Rhodes piano, great tune. Not a Dan tune but it fucking works).
