I made a pomegranate pie a couple of weeks ago for a dessert competition. I had no idea how I was going to do it, but it came out pretty well.
When you juice the seeds, you really want to cover them with something – they’re worse than grapefruits at seeking out your eye. And pomegranate juice that falls on anything will stain.

Make a glass of lemonade, or half-iced tea and hal-lemonade. Peel pomegranate over glass, put seeds in glass and drink. Then eat the seeds.

> One of my favourite fruit salads consists of pomegranate seeds, ripe pears, toasted chopped walnuts and diced dried figs.

Oooh, toss in some stinky, salty bleu cheese crumbles and I’m sooo all over that!

You guys eat the pips? /boggle

I’ve only had pomegranate two or three times, but I thought you were supposed to just suck the juice off, and then spit the seeds out. I had no idea anyone ate the seeds.

> I am SO glad you seem to love that salad as much as I do! Sadly, that link is broken. Happily, here’s the recipe!
>
> 1 head Romaine lettuce, washed and torn
> 1 bunch spinach, stems removed, washed and torn
> seeds of one pomegranate
> 1/4 cup of toasted pine nuts
> 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
>
> Dressing:
> 1/3 cup olive oil
> 1 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
> 2 Tbsp. maple syrup
> 1 tsp. Dijon mustard
> 1/2 tsp. oregano
> salt and freshly ground pepper
>
> Toss lettuce and spinach together in a large bowl. Add pomegranate seeds, toasted pine nuts and feta. Whisk dressing ingredients together and store in refrigerator. Toss with salad ingredients just before serving.

Thanks for catching that! And, many years later, thank you _so much_ for that amazing recipe! It’s so simple to put together but so elegant and delicious!

Aren’t the seeds really the only edible part of the fruit?
