I always drink icewater when I’m at the keyboard. That way when one of you comedians makes me spray a mouthful all over with your witticisms, the monitor won’t get all sticky. Mrs. Chef once spilled lemonade on my keyboard, and just wiped up the keys and DIDN’T TELL ME. She finally admitted what she’d done when I came out raving that all my keys were sticking and I was going to kill (the then 2-yr.-old) Chef Jr. for wrecking the keyboard. * * * Live a Lush Life Da Chef ---

I know you’re not supposed to have liquids anywhere near keyboards, but I’ve never had any kind of accidental spills in the 17 years I’ve been working with computers. At the company I’m working at now, however, I have had to open up and clean things like, coffee(extra sugar), tea, Coke, Budweiser, and maple syrup from the inside of keyboards. The maple syrup was, by far, the most challenging cleanup. Anybody else here have to clean up interesting stuff inside of a keyboard? * * * “It’s only common sense, There are no accidents 'round here.” ---

The company I work for is really great. It’s a fairly large family-run textbook company. Occasionally at the end of a busy day the managers have been known to bring in a few brewskies for us hardworking souls. And, yes, we hire on a regular basis. This is proof of how few hackish types read the SD. Nobody picked mountain dew? (even as an alternative to crab juice!!!) and Jolt only mentioned twice? _sigh_ Nothing but the above keeps my nervous system buzzing when I’m hitting the keyboard for more than 7 or 8 hours at a time. 🙂 * * * Joe Cool How will I laugh tomorrow, When I can’t even smile today? ---

At work: iced tea preferred; will make do with diet Coke or Fresca. At home: V8 (doctored up, of course; really a Virgin Mary), iced tea, or lemonade. On weekends, sometimes wine (prefer reds) with a plate of cheese bits, crackers, olives, etc.–snacky stuff that subsitutes for dinner while I kick back. Veb ---

At work: Diet Coke or water. At home: water, water, and more water. I’m attempting to cut back on soft drinks. We’ll see how long THIS lasts. And DD? You actually BUY Beast???
