Say you just got cut off in traffic by some lackwit. What name do you call him? Her? In less inflamed situations do you have a go-to name for “just some guy”? Gal? Among the ones I use: Virgil Gerald Leroy Cletus Nadine Louise Zelda (no shit!) Alice I’m meaning the one(s) you actually use, not just some cute one(s) you can make up, although I have no way to tell which. 😃 ---

I usually think “Nice going, Corolla (or Accord, or Impala). What an idiot.” Likewise, when I’m greeting strange dogs, I usually call them by their breed. “What a good Lab you are! Such a nice dobie.” StG ---

For traffic misbehaviors I may use an identifier which actually applies to the car (“a BMW it had to be!” “fuckign A4s and the whore who birthed them all” “the way that 4x4 is sitting half on this lane, I bet the small-brain behind the wheel’s previous car was a Twingo”) or, uhm, with my apologies to gays, one of those words which started life as a gay slur but which has ended up meaning “idiot” more often than “gay” (it’s even gotten a female form, although the initial slur was male-only). Sorry :o I’ve been working on it, serious! For general dude and in Spanish, I often go for variations of Frank. We have lots of them, and some even have additional connotations such as regional or social extractions. We had a meeting today going over a process which was given to us as if every step involved a computer, but it turns out most don’t. Steps which were “off-system” got labeled Manolo, Manola, Manolito… (common abbreviations for Manuel/Manuela). ---

In traffic, I usually go with the vehicle type or a pun on the car’s model name. “Stupid-ass mini-van!” “Come on, Cadaver (Cavalier), get out of the way!” “Nice going, Prickus (Prius)…” When I’m being annoyed by kids, skinny boys are all named “Timmy,” heavy boys are “Pugsley,” and all girls are “Suzie.” ---

Other drivers are always “George” (regardless of gender) because that’s what my dad always called them. ---

Timmy, especially for younger folk who have screwed things up and are insisting I fix things. Also “Little Timmy”. Women are typically “chica”. If they’re overprivileged, they might be ‘Muffy’. ---
