> My greatest weakness is that when I’m overwhelmed, I shut down to avoid dealing with the things I’m overwhelmed about. When I’m faced with what feels like too much to do, I do nothing. When I’m faced with interacting with a lot of different people, I become a hermit eschewing all human contact while I ‘‘recover.’’ And truth be told, I start feeling overwhelmed pretty easily. There is a real connection between my avoidance behavior and my depression. It’s a real pain in the ass because, you know, I’ve got shit to do, and going into hibernation mode doesn’t really help me get it done.

I went through a similar situation for a good part of my life. When I got divorced I was forced to face all these things or see my kids end up living in the getto. I started off just doing one thing at a time and making sure I finished it. Didn’t matter how many things were on the list I only dealt with one at a time. After a very short period of time I discovered I was very good at knocking down my lists and started taking on more involved projects and responsibilities. Within a couple of years I feel Like I have completely recovered from this crippling disorder. Good Luck!

I don’t have a greatest weakness, per say, however I tend to accumulate bad feelings/experiences without realizing it until I’m literally overwhelmed with negativity. It can creep up on me and then I’m wallowing in despair.

So if something strikes me during this time, it could be the last straw. Whereas if it struck me the previous month (week, whatever), I would have merely shrugged it off my shoulders.

Emotions are for sissys. Don’t sweat it.
