I think we’ve done this thread before, but your timing is pretty good. For the next 2 months I remain the only full-time school chess teacher in the UK. (In September, a friend of mine will become the second). There’s no easy way to say this but … I also teach roleplaying and computer strategy games. My team just won the UK Schools Chess Championship. Two years ago, we won the UK Schools D+D Tournament. I love my job!!! ---

I do fraud investigations for the company I work for. They are a finacial service on the web. I’m also an amateur pool player. I’m pretty good and have won a few tournaments but am looking for a teacher. Anyone know of any leads in the Silicon Valley area of CA? ---

I am a machine operator in a factory making textile leather. Which is a fancy word for vinyl. It is used for car seats, dashboards, door pales, book covers, and swimming pool covers. ---

Lsura: No I deal with fraud that happens outside the company. That is people who try to use our service fraudulently. Its pretty interesting and I like the casual environment of a web company. No dangerous gasses but not as cool as glee’s job though. ---

I am a QMRP (Qualified Mental Retardation Professional). I work for a social service agency that serves the developmentally disabled. I am the case manager for our program (my program within the agency helps the clients get and keep community jobs). I am essentially in charge of making sure that all the case files are in order, writing each individual’s programs, and making sure that their needs are being served. The above is an idea of my “official” duties for my job. I am also the one that gets called when someone is sick, or is upset, or is in trouble for something. Basically, I am there to advocate for our clients’ rights and needs, and to generally try to make their lives better. ---

Are you a CISA(Certified Information Systems Auditor)? I’ll be sitting for the exam in June 2002-I missed the deadline this year. They’re highly in demand and it’s a worldwide designation. Between that and the CIA(Certified Internal Auditor)exam in November my year’s full of testing. ---

I work in the water billing department of the Customer Service division at Flint City Hall. I also work counter and phones in Customer Service, when necessary. Billing is not easy, but that’s why I like it. I learn something new nearly every day. And sometimes trying to figure out what’s going on with a particular account can be a real adventure. The rest of my day is spent being a mother to two “spirited” children, aged 4 and 19 months (not quite old enough to try & kill each other yet, but that day is coming), and wife to a professional musician. Nope, I’m never bored. 😃 ---

I just finished my second week as the CTO of a software company that does “digital life” (we have a lot of artificial intelligence experts, natural language processing for English and Japanese, etc.). My big challenge before the end of this year will be filling out the departments that are low on staff. Luckily, a number of people who have worked for me in the past are able to come work for me again. ---
