I can’t pause Tivo in the middle of a sentence. I have to wait for the person to stop talking, or rewind to an appropriate pause. (Makes it difficult with talk shows like Hardball where the guests are always talking over each other.) Funny thing is, it’s not a problem with DVDs. Only Tivo. What’s your minor hangup? ---

I can’t - CAN’T - drink milk from a glass. It has to be a mug, or an opaque plastic cup. ---

(I don’t have Tivo) The volume control has to be set to an even number. I can’t explain why, it just does. The SO likes to drive me nuts by changing it on the sly. One of these days I’m going to break his fingers. ---

When taking eggs from the egg carton, I always start at the far ends, one from this end and then one from that end, working my way in towards the middle. I hate it when a clutch of eggs is all taken from one end, then the carton doesn’t balance when you pick it up one-handed, and the unexpected imbalance could cause it to tilt and if the ineffective little latch-lid were to pop open, you’d have an icky mess, now wouldn’t you? ---

I can not write with blue ink. If I pick up a pen with blue ink, as soon as I see it I will toss it. Strange I know. ---

When making a pot of tea, I have to fill the pot with the boiling hot water to heat if up first, and _then_ pour that water into the mug I will be using (of course, to heat it up!). It is only after all of this that I can comfortably refill the teapot with rest of the boiled water for the actual brewing of the tea. In the end, I get a perfectly delicious HOT cup of tea! Yes… there is a ritual to tea! 🆒 ~D ---

I can’t stand to have my books face-up when I’m out in public - if I have to close the book I’m reading it’s always front-cover down. (I think it comes from being a strong reader early, and thus reading books others considered “weird”.) ---

I can’t stand going to a discotheque by myself. This almost led to disaster when, in preparation for last year’s Pet Shop Boys concert, Unity did a PSB tribute night. I obviously had to attend – an all-PSB dancing evening is fairly close to my idea of the sweet hereafter – but was unable to rustle up a companion until far too close to the event for comfort. Thank god for my friend Orlando. ---

I can’t stand mold. Jesus it gives me nightmares. I hate cleaning the fridge just on the off-chance that I will happen to see it, and when I DO see it, it ruins my appetite for several hours, and comes to me in flashbacks throughout the rest of the day. For this reason, if something has been sitting in my fridge more than a week, I’ll throw it away without even looking at it. Something about mold is evil. It has a presence. ---

When I put a CD or DVD back into its case, the printing has to be facing right-way up (i.e. oriented correctly for reading). I’m never sure what to do when the title, etc. is printed in a circle around the edge, because I can’t figure out which way is “up”. ---

If I get a chip in my nail polish, I have to get the rest of it off…by continuing to chip away at it instead of getting polish remover. I hate the way polish remover smells. ---

I usually have to be the only person in the bathroom when I #2. I have been known to hold it for quite some time if there is someone else present and it appears some patience will buy me some solitude. ---

I have a favourite fork. It’s was purloined from a NAAFI canteen years ago - it’s just a nicely-balanced traditional looking fork with long, slender tines and the stylised ‘N’ logo stamped into the handle. I’ve had it for more than twenty years now. ---

[/QUOTE] I go a little further. If I need to get up, for a beer or a pee, I wait till the end of scene before I’ll pause the DVD. On the plus side it means I drink a little less. ETA: Also I have to eat my potato-product from my plate before anything else. Kinda like saving the best for last because potato is boring. ---

All towels must be in the middle of the bar, corners matching. If it’s askew, I can’t think until I’ve ‘righted’ it. I don’t have any round towel holders in my house. Before I read any of my mail I must smell it. I too put DVD’s in the case, (or sleeve if in my Vault) ‘right side up’. ---

When making up my bed, I must put my top sheet on so that the “right” side of the material is facing down. That way, when I get in the bed, the “right” side is toward me. ---

I _cannot_ sit down if someone near me, in the group we’re in or whatever, is standing up. It makes me nervous, like I’m being horribly rude, making them stand while I sit like the frickin Queen of Sheba.
