I’m probably the only Wendolyn (NO G!) on this board. But I usually go by Wendy. It’s not all bad, **Ivylass**. Didn’t you feel all warm and mushy in the latest movie production of “Peter Pan,” when Hook said: “He [Peter] has found himself…a Wendy” - and heaved a great big sigh? 🆒 ---

James. James Herbert. Horrible middle name. I should’ve had a very regal name like James Hampton Cunningham, in which case I coulld have called myself James Hampton Cunningham Jr. or James Hampton Cunningham II. My parents weren’t thinking. ---

I’m stunned that there haven’t been any more Ryans yet. I swear it’s the most common name in the world - once at my high school there were six Ryans among four grades (totaling about two hundred people). In one of my college classes there were three Ryans out of about fourteen total students. I like the name, though. **Zsofia** , **The world’s most deadliest…** , we should seriously start a support group for Sara’s defending the lack of an H! It has always driven me nuts when people misspell it. I flip out on them the first time and hopefully they won’t repeat the mistake. 😉 Samantha was a name my parents considered, as was Sasha. It took a long time for me to finally like being a Sara, but for a while I reeeeally wished I’d been a Sasha. Anagha (Ah-nah-kah is the closest you can get in English)…archaic, old-fashioned Marathi name. Equivalent to being named Mildred. Anu for short. ---

Ah, so it’s your fault I’ve had to fight most of my life to get people _not_ to call me Julie. 😉 I’m not sure why, but I took an irrational hatred to the name Julie in early childhood and I still can’t stand being called that. If anybody feels the need to shorten my name, which pretty much everyone I’ve known since undergrad or earlier does, make it Jools, not Julie. ---

My real name is Yehoshua. The name I use while in the U.S. - the one on my American passport - is Joshua. Everybody in the world calls me Josh. At this point it’s the only name I answer to. My father calls me Blue, for reasons involving recessive genes. ---
