I’ve been re-reading it, and it is as good as I remember it. First - it’s true that many, including Marx, thought that the revolution would start in England, precisely because the industrialisation started there. He was constantly exasperated though; any time something seemed to stir ‘the proletariat’ in continental Europe, the workers in England shrugged and moved on. Marx realised, fairly early, that the English working man was more interested in making money than in a revolution. Now, for my claim. My memory was not exact, but close enough. Anyway, there’s nothing surprising that Marx would predict an eventual social revolution in Russia - he predicted that a social revolution would eventually occur everywhere. ---
