My usual is either a [Greyhound](http://www.webtender.com/db/drink/443) or a [Gimlet](http://www.webtender.com/db/drink/2146) , only for the latter I use 1/2 part Rose’s to 1 part gin. Vodka may be substituted for gin in either recipe depending on mood and availability. I’ve also found that Kahlua goes well with hot chocolate, Irish Cream cappucino, milk, coffee, etc. So, what’s yer poison? ---

Vodka Tonic w/ lime. I do love me a good Grey Goose Martini, but for me VTs will always be the greatest. The combination of the alcohol burn, sour lemon and bitter tonic is just perfect. ---

Gin/Tonic, always with Bombay Sapphire and a slice. If possible, I prefer Schweppes’ tonic, but that’s tough to find down here. When I make them at home I find a drop of Angostura adds a certain something. ---

Laphroaig 10. Yum… (To be fair, it’s kind of expensive, so more frequently it’s The Famous Grouse with club soda. Oh well…) **Tentacle Monster** : If you like fruit juice and gin, you might want to try a White Lady sometime: 1 part Contreau, 1 part lemon juice, one part gin. Shake and serve up. Use fresh lemon juice, and it’s exceedingly tasty. ---

A decent real ale, such as Tanglefoot or Gale’s HSB. Wine Vodka + mixer of some kind Kahlua Amaretto Bailey’s Any of the above spirits/liqueur in cocktails or coffee I guess I’m not so fussy 😃 ---

I have been craving pomegranate lately - must be dead-of-winter blues or something. So I’ve been seeding them, mashing them through a strainer and drinking the cup or so of juice. (Pom Wonderful is always sold out when I stop by Whole Foods!) Then I got the bright idea of adding a splash of soda water and a generous shot of SKYY vodka. Oh, yeah! ---

Hint: I did _not_ filch my username from the magazine of the same name. That being said, I like other vodka-based drinks as well - vodka martinis, screwdrivers, etc. Amaretto & Bailey’s are also rather nice, I find. ---

Jack Daniels when I drink alone. Beer at parties (if I ever am at one) Long Island Ice Tea at bars (if I ever am at one) So mostly Jack Daniels straight from the bottle. ---

What on _earth_ are you doing ingesting Rose’s? The stuff is vile. You should use fresh juice. Lately, I’ve been drinking kamikazes made with Hangar One mandarin vodka and Cointreau. If I’m in a traditionalist mood, I’ll have a sazerac. ---

While the end result _might_ be a better Gimlet, I’m content to stick with Rose’s. Two measures gin (usually Seagrams, but I just polished off a bottle of Gordon’s last night. Tanqueray and Bombay Sapphire are just too bloody expensive), one measure of Rose’s, a splash of soda water and a quick stir, and there you have it. And I don’t even think it’s that bad. In fact, I’ll often have a sip of Rose’s straight from the bottle. ---
