What's your random word'?

Baklava!

blah
fnerf
Sometimes, when I really feel like being wild and crazy, I use

test

I’m not that interesting. I don’t have to apologize for it.

Twelve.

I used to say it at random points in a conversation when I was a kid. Haven’t the faintest idea why.

For a random word I use “Yoink” and “narf!”. For a random names “Meg Griffin” or “Gillian Anderson”

For general “need a word quick” things, I like

booger
qwerty
xxx
fdfdfdfdfdfdfdfd

For dates, I almost always use 1/11/1900.

For proper names I use

testy mctest
Vito Baggadonuts
Nicky Potatosalad

Whoremonger.

I don’t have a use for that; it’s just my favorite 11 letter word.

I have always had a strange affection for the word palimpsest.

For some reason my company decided to use 12/31/2299 as “the end of time” on our computer system.

“Antwerp” is my random word.

I use it for practical applications as set out in the OP, and also to end uncomfortable lulls in conversation.

Kayfabe, to remind others when mizzarks are present.

I tend to use the only slightly interesting “lalatestit”.

I once got an email from our President after I accidently sent him an invoice request to purchase lalatest it for a staggering One Million Dollars. He said he was really really sorry to have to decline my request. I’ve gotta be more careful about keeping my dev and production environments distinct.

On an aside note…is there anyone else in the world that’s excited about .net’s new ability to bcp via ado? I know I’m a dork, but surely there’s someone else just as chuffed as I am about this.

Nobody else seems to care…:frowning:

Mine are all boring (test, testing, The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog’s back, etc.)

But my husband, who is a software and load test manager, uses “nostrils.”

He also uses this as a random swearword replacement, or, for greater emphasis, “Holy Nostrils!” or “By the nostrils of Gzortch!”, which is often shortened to “By the nostrils!” (He will also gleefully explain that Gzortch is the Demon Prince of Nostrils…er…yeah, we’re gamers, too…) I knew it had gotten far out of hand when he dropped a screwdriver point down on his foot and hopped around yelling, “Nostrils! Oh, holy nostrils! FAR OUT! That hurts!” :smiley:

Yeah, he’s weird. Love him lots, but so very, deeply weird…

Cheers,
G

Word: fasdfafa. (I think it’s what’s served on the side of The Frim Fram Sauce.)

Name: Poop Doodoo (birthdate: January 1, 1900).

[Pretty Luke Skywalker before the accident]

I care.

My random word is: Yoda

My random phrase is: Yoda was here!

I’ll usually do something like:

printf(“Yo”);
test code that might break
printf(“da”);
test code that might break
printf(" was here!");

So I get something meaningful regardless of how far it goes, “Yo”, “Yoda”, or “Yoda was here!”
