Instead of reviving a thread, I thought I’d ask anew: What is your ringtone? Do you set different ringtones for specific callers, or does everyone get the same one? For most callers, I have the theme from Syfy’s Eureka. Mr. Celtic Knot actually composed a song we play, so I recorded it and that’s his ringtone. I don’t get a lot of calls anymore, so the years I anticipated buying a phone that could use Eureka seem wasted… ---

“Strings,” apparently, an Android pre-canned ring, for everyone. I hardly ever get calls. I don’t know how to download anything fancy-schmancy. I’m sure I could figure it out, if I cared. ---

If the call is from home or the wife’s cell, it’s a song titled with her name. If it’s one of my debaters or school, it’s “Through the Fire and Flames” by Dragonforce. Other coaches ring with “Toussaint L’Overture” by Santana. Everyone else gets “Girls in Their Summer Clothes” by Bruce Springsteen. ---

I have a BlackBerry and my basic ringtone is the generic iPhone ringtone (hehe). I have multiple different ringtones and text message indicators for the dozen or so people who contact me most frequently. I have a special tone for when my credit card is charged $50 or more, even if I make the charge. I love fine-tuning my techie toys. ---

But right now, for text message notification sounds from various people, I have the opening chord to The Beatles’ “A Hard Day’s Night” the opening saxophone blast from Madness’s “[Night Boat To Cairo](https://youtu.be/lLLL1KxpYMA?t=12)” the “doo-dooo doo-doo-doo” from the Muppets’ “[Mahna Mahna](https://youtu.be/QTXyXuqfBLA?t=11)” For actual ringtones, I’ve used the instrumental introductions to the Daniel Amos songs “[The Double](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__aCeI8aaVg)” and “[Mall All Over The World](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcSXit0LAAo)” as distinctive and something I’m not likely to hear unless my phone is playing them. ---

I used to have as my non-specific ringtone the first 6 notes of Hot Chocolate’s You Sexy Thing. It drove my co-workers nuts. Text notification used to be The Jetson’s theme but then the one maintenance man had the very same one and he was always in our office. Had to change it. My husband’s work cell is an alarm with a robotic "Warning! Warning! Your husband is trying to reach you! Warning! Warning! My husband’s personal cell: Your husband is calling. Press one to tell him you still love him. Press two to show him how much you care. Press three. . . I don’t remember what 3 is because I usually pick up before then. ---
