If liquor counts, [Shackelton’s Whisky.](http://www.theshackletonwhisky.com/the-whiskys-journey/) I’m very disappointed that nobody ever wrote a Scottish reel about the discovery.

A poster here once told the story of the banana bird. You see, there was a, no, you’d be better off having him tell it.

ETA: back to the thread topic, I once had a huge number of button quail eggs (don’t ask). I lowered one at a time into a simmering water bath, for gradually increasing lengths of time to determine the right time for hardboiling. It was weird, just a lark, didn’t eat any.
