Currently, what song fits you best? Not your current favorite, but the song you think best reflects your emotional state at this point? What do you listen to and say, “Wow, I feel like I could have written that”? For me, I’m going to say it’s a tie between [REM’s ‘Losing my Religion’](http://www.lyricsfreak.com/r/rem/115307.html), or [XTC’s ‘Dear God’](http://www.sing365.com/music/lyric.nsf/SongUnid/9FCF0A103AA0DDD34825690F0023B7A3). The mood of the songs fits how I’ve been feeling lately. Not outright bitter, but as I get deeper and deeper into senior year, I feel myself getting more and more cynical, and I feel like I somehow missed something, or am missing something. Or something like that. Or, as an alternate possibility, am I the only one who does this emotional-connection-to-random-songs thing? ---

Listening to alot of Barry McCormack lately but i’d say Wilco’s “Jesus, Etc.” is my song at the minute. Makes me wanna cry. ---

“Numb” by U2, not so much the lyrics, but the hollowed out electronic-processed voice singing them and the repetative tone of the music kind of fits my mood. ---

either “Hey Ya!” off the new OutKast album, or “Cant hardly wait” from a Replacements compilation CD a mate did for me. i’m not entirely sure why, but theres something about them 2 songs that are helping my brain out right now. possibly because i’m looking for a new job. but take it anyway you like. ---

Bob Dylan’s “Don’t Think Twice.” Also the Susan Tedeschi version. It’s such a fantastic break-up song. And the great thing about it is that it takes on many different tones and feelings with each version. It can be sad, or bitter, or haunting, or simply careless. ---

“I Believe in a Thing Called Love” by The Darkness. It’s glammy and frantic and it’s exactly my speed. And thanks to the events of this summer, I can’t turn off “She Hates Me” by Puddle of Mudd. Terrible, terrible song, but so cathartic. For those of you who like “Don’t Think Twice,” Mike Ness’s version is brilliant and bitter and good music to smash things by (or drink to. Or both). ---
