# What's your special ability?

- Hitchhiker’s thumb. Never thought it was anything special until one day I was doing it in class and a couple of girls went “Ewwww! That’s disgusting! Do it again!” 🙂
- Double jointed fingers.
- I can introduce people to new, mystical realities and bestow upon them amazing sensations of being disconnected from their bodies, all in a relatively safe way. No, really–I’m the kid with the best nitrous at school. (And I know way, way too much about psychoactive drugs–mostly just from reading, although a _little_ tiny bit from experimenting.)
- Speaking of which, I can hold nitrous in my lungs pretty long, although not quite to superpower range.
- I can hear a TV or monitor being on–I always thought of it less as a special ability than as knowing what to listen for. Whatever it is, though, has been thrown off somewhat by my family having bought a plasma TV last year.
- I used to be able to play piano by ear. Haven’t done it in a long time, and I’m afraid to try again because I fear I’ll look mighty silly, especially in front of other people.
- I am totally inept at lacing my shoelaces, and at lighting cigarettes. I have had to have friends do both for me.
