What's your tri-state area?

You must live on my street

CT, MA, NY

We are the great thoroughfare between Boston and NYC…

We don’t use the term ‘tri-state’. We don’t use any term. There aren’t enough states for it to be a common thing.

If, however, you were to leave Sydney and drive hard for a day and a half or so, you’d get to a place called Cameron Corner, which is where New South Wales, Queensland, and South Australia meet.

There’s um… not much there.

University: WI / IA / IL

It’s not really called tri-state, but around here it would be New Mexico, Texas, and Chihuahua

Yeah, not really anything else around New Orleans unless you want to count the Gulf.

I used to work in the previously mentioned Ark-La-Tex, but currently reside in Cal-Neva-Ha. The former was commonly used, the latter less so, but I’ve been in two completely unrelated national organizations with “Cal-Neva-Ha” regions.

Bay Area, similar answer. Many forms around here don’t even have a space for state, which, having lived in NJ a few exits from PA on 95, I consider very odd.

When I lived in Charleston, it was WV-OH-KY. Now that I’m in Morgantown, it’s WV-OH-PA. For my in-laws over in Martinsburg, it’s WV-MD-VA.

For me, one of those.

Lebanon, Syria, Jordan.

N.D. , Minn. , S.D.

Though South Dakota is a bit south of here…

Mentioned already: when I grew up in Charleston, “tri-state” meant the WV-OH-KY area.

I don’t hear the term tri-state here in Lexington very often, but if I do it usually refers to KY-OH-IN.

A ‘tri-state’ you want to avoid is VA-WV-KY  That area is a nasty hole especially Grundy, VA.

Depending on where in Arkansas you are from… AR, LA TX or AR MO and OK

MI-IN-OH. Not that the latter two are worth a bucket of spit.

Well, NSW is only a short (30 minute) drive from the Gold Coast, and about an hour from Brisbane.

There’s not much reason to go there, though, now that X-rated porn is freely available up here and you can’t buy Fireworks in Tweed Heads anymore.

I always thought the only tri-state was NY-NJ-CT until I went to college. Out in Pittsburgh its PA-OH-WV.

KHQA Keokuk [IA]-Hannibal [MO] Quincy [IL] Area was the only tri-state are I was familiar with growing up. The first time heard the of NY-NJ-CT tri-state seemed wierd.

In this part of N. FL it is FL, GA and AL.

There are other states? (Said the native Californian).
