# Wheek: Who said it first?

I’m very curious to know who first came up with the term “wheeking” to describe the sound guinea pigs make (especially when they’ve just heard a plastic bag rustle). I’d also like to know who first used the term, “popcorn” to describe the funny little twisty jump guinea pigs do when they are very happy.

Wow, I thought that this was the one site where any question I could think of would be answered, but I stumped everyone with my “wheek” question?! _sigh_ How disappointing. _sigh again with unhappy face_

Apparently, he isn’t. [Wheek.org](http://www.wheek.org/) is a guinea pig website. It doesn’t answer the OP, I’m afraid.
